KeAnn Mays-LeNoir (she/her)

Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

Are you hoping for the type of transformation that can only come through more satisfying relationships?

Healing within families can be a complex idea to comprehend. It can be even more difficult to imagine having your family collaborate throughout the healing process. I believe that by collaborating together and highlighting the strengths of each member, I can assist you and your family reach your goals. A Chicago native, born and raised on the west side of the city, I have not only experienced systemic oppression directly, but I’ve also experienced the power of community overcoming oppression by working together. Specializing in BIPOC children and youth, I can assist any family structure to overcome intersectionality that exist within their personal identities, as members of their communities, and members of grander society. By re-defining and decolonizing the ideals of therapy and uplifting the pressures that oppression may bring, I’m passionate about walking alongside with you as we unpack and rebuild together. In addition to helping families, I am deeply committed to partnering with couples, and helping them reach their fullest potential and gaining a new insight within their relationship, and within themselves.

By using systemic models like Satir Experiential theory, Structural theory, and Narrative therapy, as well as the powerful tool of self-of-the-therapist, I  have the knowledge needed to support systems and individuals in their therapy journey. I am open to all identities, have a vast exposure to diverse cultural backgrounds, and am affirming of all orientations. I am currently a Masters student at Cappella University and my Supervisor is Maia Easley, LMFT. I bring 10 years of experience of working with high risk children and youth ages 0 to 21, 5 years within the DCFS field, and 6 years of experience of in-home care with family units throughout the community. I am confident that I can help you, your relationship, and your family on the  journey of healing, and reaching your desired fullest potential.
